Conscioussness. Hard problem.

Does experience create the self?

This exhibition explores one of the greatest unresolved mysteries of science and philosophy: how and why do physical processes in the brain give rise to subjective experience?

For this exhibition during Berlin Art Week, A Hidden Variable brings together 10 artists working across different media and perspectives. Rather than presenting a collection of separate works, we aim to transform the space into one interconnected immersive project. Through visual art, immersive installations, spatial interventions and VR experiences, visitors are invited to move between different ways of thinking about what it means to be conscious.

During the Vernissage, Ala Leresteux will give a lecture introducing some of the most fascinating contemporary theories of consciousness.
